How to set up your custom domain in Bluehost

*These are our specific instructions for setting up a custom domain in Bluehost. If you're looking for more general information on what a custom domain is, please see this article*

1. Log into your Bluehost account.

2. Select 'domains', then 'zone editor', and choose which of your domains you'd like to have your Thinkific site available at.

3. Fill out the fields for 'Add DNS Record' as shown in the example below.

Host Record = your chosen subdomain; e.g. www, courses
TTL = 3600*
Type = CNAME
Points To = your Thinkific URL; e.g.
*Your TTL value may be different depending on your account type. Just leave whatever number shows up in this field by default - you don't need to manually change it to 3600.

4. Next, hit 'add record' to save your CNAME record.

5. Now go to your Thinkific site and on the Admin Dashboard click Settings > Site > Site URL, Click on Add Custom URL, then enter in your custom URL, and click Save.

Now all you need to do is send a message via the HELP page on your admin dashboard, letting us know your chosen custom domain, and we can complete the setup on our side.

If you get stuck at any point with creating the CNAME record, you can reach out to Bluehost directly and they should be able to help you get set up.
